But do you ... Hasselhoff?

What the hell is this man doing? Is he trying to pull a Shatner by going over the top with the kitschy self-awareness in an effort to make himself relevant again? Or, more appropriately, is he just pulling a Hasselhoff. Hoffy being Hoffy. Thanks to CJ for the tip to The Superficial's coverage of the following:

Please also see his renditions of Rhinestone Cowboy, Secret Agent Man, Hooked on a Feeling, and Blue Bayou, and of course the all-time classic, Hooked on a Feeling. This guy invented the Triple Threat.

For the record, I want to say that I came across this gem accidentally and not because I have been avidly following Hasselhoff's thriving music career. It's not like I have a poster of The Hoffmeister up in my bedroom (actually, it's Dewy24's poster).

You have a poster of Dewy24 up in your bedroom?

Um, that's not what I meant but yes, I have a poster of dewy24 in my bedroom. It's a classic from his days as a young heartthrob in the short-lived but well-received UMASS band "Polyp." It's autographed, and I think it's currently valued at about um, 15 cents.

Is that the one of him sitting on Father O's lap?

Um, how do we know that we aren't all unwilling participants an a stealth viral-marketing campaign to make Hasselhoff "relevant again"?

I mean, a knowing mention on VTK has a high hipster kitsch ironic point value...

Good heavens Danny Nolan! I think bringing in lap-sitting may have crossed some lines. Dewy24 has also just informed me that he is uncomfortable becoming the subject for this particular post (that's prob my fault there).

So I'm going to stop commenting on that bit recommend redirecting to the Hoff, at the risk of making him relevant again as Marshall justly fears.

re Marshall's comment: I can't reveal anymore.

(but it's like 59 points)

re anon's comment: I was just trying to get a rise out of Father O.

(though that might make dewy24 even more uncomfortable)

oh shit! I went there.

Let me start by saying that I have the attention span of a flea and therefore I intended only to watch the first 40 seconds of this clip but I was totally mesmerized by Hoffy's oddly brazen confidence (do people outside the Revere Beach area actually pick up girls this way?) Thankfully, I stuck with this clip long enough to enjoy the surprise ending. Considering the current gas prices, who can really blame Hoffy for being an such an indian giver.

did you watch the "Hooked on a Feeling" video?
