Lack of comments because everyone is thinking, how can he see without eyeballs?
it would appear that the eyes were attached to the brain which has apparently shrunken back to the rear of the skull, pulling the eyeballs back in with it. So, consciousness and vision are apparently retained in death; they just operate from the base of the skull, which might explain why zombies always seem stupid and eat brains and stuff.
in related news, it turns out the issue in my eye is a simple bacterial infection and not glaucoma. so that's good. I might get the patch anyways. Nobody wears patches anymore. I'm thinking of bringing it back.
So next time Im in Cambridge and I see a guy with an eye patch I'll be all dan! dan! hi it's meeeee! and he'll be all my name is gerald, go away.

now that you mention it, the discharge was a big on the tan side. I guess I should have mentioned that.
