Combining the effortless elegance of Maria Von Trapp's Meadow with the austere functionality of a Trapper Keeper since 2005.
seriously. someone was like, I know, I'll do this, really well, and then they did it. awesome.
Dan, I'm really impressed with your new work. It's fresh and, of course, it possesses an animal intelligence. There are threads linking this new period to your old work (I see the recurrent motif of alligators) but it has a newness to it that marks some clear changes in your artistic maturity and sensibilties. Given your recent sales success, I'm impressed that you are reacting against this commercialism by painting such ephemeral works on the human hand. How do you find your hand models?
oh, they're not ephemeral. they're tattoos!
color me mesmerized.
I just can't pick a favorite. sometimes I like the tiger because of the look in its eye, then I like the cat and the owl because they're so fucked up looking and require a backwards metalhorn to display, and then of course there's the toucan. and what can you say about that toucan.
Dan - are you still having your NoBo Art Show on Thursday? You really should post a reminder if you want a good turn out. Let me know if you want us to wear our VTK shirts. Also, what time will you be there until because I think we may be late.
I didn't want to shove it down the collective throat of the VTK readership, but I guess a reminder is in order. I'll be there from 7 to about 11 (maybe 10:30). As for the VTK shirts, wear em if you got em.
